Founded in 1975, Fleet Transit has grown from 11 trailers and "a couple of well
used trucks to a fleet of 40 tractors and more than 150 trailers, and 130
dedicated employees. Fleet's 70 company drivers and 40 owner-operators keep an
average of 75 units on the road transporting
petroleum products to service
stations, bus companies, military installations, bulk plants, power plants and
other fleets. Fleet also delivers cement
and asphalt to factories that mix the
materials with aggregate.
Fleet
Transit is currently the largest Mid-Atlantic carrier in its market. "We provide
predictable schedules, well-maintained equipment, and experienced drivers. We
are accepted by all the major shippers and we are recognized for our safety and
service records."
When
asked about the company's steady progress, Fleet's President, Kevin McNeil said:
"We grew by offering superior service. It was tough getting recognized in this
industry, but we hung in there." |
